Kaplan's Waterford Project

Posted 03-18-2008 at 10:50 AM by HappyPolski
After reading about Kaplan I decided to shot off a message to City Hall about my feelings on the matter. Afterwards I emailed the group about it. Neil suggested that I post it here, so here goes. The beginning is my message to my friends and the bottom portion is what was sent to City Hall.==========

Rather than sitting back and kvetching about it I decided to elevate it to an actual complaint to City Hall. Will it accomplish anything? Probably not, but at least now they know my feelings on the matter!Anyone else care to file a complaint??? Maybe numbers will help them come to a more realistic conclusion as to what should happen next. Just a thought!

Subject: A new Service Request has been created [Request ID #612] A new complaint (ID: 612) has been filed. The complaint details appears below:Complaint Detail:
ID: 612 Date: 3/18/2008 8:28:00 AM
Type: Bayonne Local Redevelopment Authority

Comments: I've just read in the JJ on-line that Kaplan is balking at building the 84 units that they proposed. In addition, last year the number of units was downsized from 144. The current housing situation and economics condition is in a sorry state of affairs. However, the developer has had access to the land since 2004. To my knowledge thay have done nothing in terms of construction. If they don't own the land then the BLRA should remove them as the developers of record. It's about time that the Administration takes a proactive stance on the construction/housing situation in town. RFP the properties and move forward. Thank You. ==========Now, you have two options, you can either just type away complaining or you can actually let City Hall know how you feel about this.

If you want to complain start at - http://www.bayonnenj.org/
In the body of the message from Mayor Malloy click where it says CLICKING HERE. Fill in the pertainent information. At the section with the comments for STREET: I selected NO SPECIFIC LOCATION. For REQUEST TYPE I selected the BLRA. If you're going to send off a message, and this is just a thought, maybe you should CUT/PASTE mine to reinforce the idea that there are several, or more, individuals who represent a small group of citizens.

Also, you might want to contact others to see if they'd be willing to send City Hall the message that we, the citizen's, are fed up.
