Blocked From Posting on nj.com again
Posted 04-03-2008 at 09:42 AM by neilbarton
I have been blocked since yesterday from posting on the Bayonne nj.com forum. I sent a request yesterday to inquire why I was blocked and it was not answered. I can only assume there is a political motive behind this shut out. I have broken no rules, however nj.com is a private website and can decide, if they so chose, to block someone for political reasons despite observing all rules.
Because I am blocked, I would like to respond to one post on nj.com from Mike Ransom here on this website. Mike asked twice, who is my attorney. I responded to Mike directly to his private email address, however I would like to do so publicly as well. The answer to his question is that I have no attorney representing me.
I have sought help from a number of Bayonne attorneys, none wished to accept this case pro bono. Either they did not have the time, did not have the interest, were afraid of taking on a political issue, or had a conflict of interest. This does not mean that I received no assistance from attorneys. A number of people were nice enough to allow me to pick their brains on issues, procedures and the like. However, of those people none advised me legally on strategy in any official capacity, or the case specifically, as almost all had issues of conflict or were precluded from assisting anyone because of work restrictions.

allsharkI too was deleted and I stated that Neil Barton should be the next Mayor of Bayonne....Bayonne needs a complete makeover and I also applaud Neil for taking the time and now he is going after the Port Authority and the BLRA, After ten wasteful years of spending at the MOTBY/BLRA and very little to show.
I hope he does run for Mayor.\I wish him and his loved ones good health and best regards. |

KingBayRatNeil, You are to be commended for your work on this, but pardon this direct question... What exactly do you hope will be accomplished as a result of this action?

adminI welcome the question KBR. The first thing I hope to have happen is that the PA lawsuit will go away. It is one more problem we as a city do not need. We have more than enough without this suit draining money and resources on our city. If they win we lose out on money. Money that we may not even see anyway depending on what the Army says. However, if we can begin to limit the fronts we are fighting our battles on perhaps we can make some progress.
If my action fails, then at least I have let the politicians know that they have more to fear than just other political opponents. I am not a constituency who will be easily won over by some city perk. I make too much in the private sector for that. What do you think KBR? Neil |

seriousjokerBecause I know that the BPA's enemies (by which the people who delete our posts because they don't want the truth to be known, among other things) browse this forum, this is for you...*AHEM* You are (a) cowardly scumsucking worm(s) who in my opinion are not worthy to live in this great land of ours...you do not have the balls to confront us face to face, and that is why I laugh at you; the spineless deleter...and to NJ.com...shame, you allow these shallow humans to disgrace you...know this Neil...you have friends here...

ohonestyI, like everyone else am tired of deletions. I was deleted, but not put in jail, for making the remark that I felt the new school was originally going to be named after Doria but the uproar from the people probably stopped it or put it on hold. I further succested that it would not surprise me if sometime in the future they tried to snek it in. Deleted!!! Why?

cityeditionI'm right along side you Jude
What a shock. Apparently post 27348 in the forum was a little too direct for someone to handle. So as cowards will, they cried to NJ.com and had me banned. Not a problem, I'll just turn up the volume a little. More to come. |

Jude AmerickCall me crazy, but I have a real deep suspicion that stopcityed is the one doing the deleting. And my deeper suspicion it is our friendly officer from JC. Why I have that feeling, I don't know. But stopcityed violates about 7 NJO rules every time he posts and nothing happens. We need to start using this board more. Neil told us he is trying to use a different forum format. Also, He or us need to get the word out about this board to more than just us. I wonder if Neil can get a link on the Bayonne website? Neil?
I hope that volume is attached to PMBradio? If not, WHY NOT? ![]() Jude |

Jude AmerickCity,
Actually, I was on the NJO restaurant forum, and the normal board admin said he is no longer in that role and NJO is going to do it in-house, whatever that means. I understand the need for NJO to protect themselves but the posts they do allow are worse than many they delete. There needs to be a better way to control the NJO board other than having a poster decide what is inappropriate. Jude |

...I suspect you may be right. I also wonder about the possibility of stopcity and either BayGuy or Olszewski also being one in the same. We already know with certainty that Olszewski was aveCguy. Either way you're right, this forum might be the way to go rather than NJ.com |

Jude AmerickGet the word out on NJO to have people come here. I understand Neil is working on a different format. However, the forum piece of this site can work in the same way as NJO. Change is bad, just different.

luluIs there any way to contact NJ.Com other than through an e-mail? I have never been bothered by the zany zapper until I stated I was happy Robert Sloan was going to run for Mayor. Since then even my greetings have been removed. My post requesting any one who experienced an unfair deletion follow it up immediately with a notification lasted about 10 minutes.
I doubt it is the intent of NJ.Com to allow a single individual the power to control an entire board. You guys who are computer sauvy can probably answer my question - can't NJ check the source of the deletions and read the posts that are being removed? If they establish the posters have been abiding by the rules, the recourse should be to ban the deleter. I doubt other Nj forum sites have a lunatic who takes great pleasure knowing he/she has full control of a forum site. He/she is abusing and misusing the alert us doohickie. It is more offensive than someone who curses ( which by the way, is most times not deleted). |

cityeditionAh yes,
Once again I've gotten under someone's thin, thin shin and locked away in forum jail. All the more conformation that the truth stinging someone who's ONLY answer is to essentially censor me. |
