As such you recently received a message concerning the JJ article about the Director search. One respondent asked about the qualifications expected of the candidates. I asked someone from City Hall with whom I’ve been speaking about that request. Said person was kind enough to forward the attached PDF file.</span></font>

BLRA Exec Search

This executive search criteria is totally idiotic and designed to put Doll into the position.

There is not a SINGLE word in the application that would require some form of real estate delopment experiencce.

They want public speaking experience (because meetings will be televised), and the ability to interact with other government agencies.

Continuation of pure curruption .....Doll as Director.

It doesn't take a genious to realize that the qualification for the job should be realestate deveopement as #1. If we are really going to develope the base, we have to get someone who is qualifed in developement and sales. Itime the commissioners and the mayor start to be realistic and not honor Doria's promises to certain individuals who have no knowledge. We wasted enough of time. They better start getting serious. If they had hired competant people from the start, the base would have been producing revenue by now.

CLIFF DOLL IS IN OTHERWISE THEY WOULDN'T HAVE PUT HIS NAME OUT THERE AS THEY DID WITH PIERSON. WE ARE EXPECTING THE UNQUALIFIED TO LOOK FOR THE QUALIFIED. AIN'T GONNA HAPPEN. VERY FEW LEADERS IN THIS CITY ARE QUALIFIED FOR THEIR POSITIONS.

I'd like someone to tell me exactly what the Directors job entails. Not wht they THINK it entails, but what the day to day, and ultimate responsibitities are.

Then I'd like them to bring the resumes of other redevelopment authority directors and show me exactly how comprehensive their understanding of the position is.

And Scorpo, I'll ask you again, what the source of your expertise in deciding what the search criteria should be. I don't want to hear about your assumptions, I want to hear about your credentials.

Comment from one of my email friends:

By any chance have you visited Neil's web site? The BLRA ED specs are out there. Just the same I've attached the file.

Stan,

Thanks. I read it on Neil's site.

As you see, it is pretty thin on "real" qualifications and seems to be dumbed down.

5 years experience, or 3 years experience and a Masters Degree? This light-weight experience does not inspire me that they know what they should be looking for.

HOW ABOUT KIST GOING TO WORK FOR THE FORMER DEPUTY EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OF THE PORT AUTHORITY. THIS LAW FIRM SPECIALIZES IN REPRESENTING GOVERNMENT AGENCIES. I WONDER HOW OFTEN THEY HAVE REPRESENTED THE PORT AUTHORITY AND HOW CLOSE THEY ARE TO THE PORT AUTHORITY. NOW KIST WILL BRING HER KNOWLEDGE OF THE BLRA TO THEM.

Now that Joe Nichols has been named director maybe the conspiracy theory fueled screeching about Doll being appointed will be done.
