Firefighters made a daring rescue off Coney Island yesterday when they plucked three people from the choppy ocean waters. A man and two women who had been swimming were swept into a rock jetty near West 16th Street shortly after 5 p.m. and became trapped by the quickly rising tide, fire officials said. Anchored to the shore, firefighters trudged 75 feet out, where the three were hanging on for dear life. "For them it was a panic situation," said firefighter Mike Manza. "We were just trying to keep them calm. It was just as important as getting them off the rocks."
