Default Sour Note In 'greek Tragedy'

A big fat contract dispute between a popular Greek band and a wedding singer has left dozens of heartbroken couples going "bouzoukis." The Queens-based band, Power Station, claims it had booked 120 weddings through next year with legendary Greek crooner Yianni Papastefanou. But a Greek tragedy unfolded when Papastefanou allegedly stopped showing up for gigs, according to a lawsuit filed last week in Queens Supreme Court. Now the band is demanding $35,185 in damages from its velvet-voiced former frontman. But the singer insisted Power Station bandleader Chris Lambropoulos traded on his popularity, overbooked events and never told Papastefanou about the gigs he wound up missing. Groom Chris Patsis, says he discovered Power Station and Papastefanou had split up just before his November nuptials. "He's probably the best singer in the US right now," Patsis said..
